Farm Visit

This last week we visited a friends farm in order to learn a few things and also picked up some treats from their garden. My girls had a wonderful time bottle feeding the calves and can’t wait to get to do it for their own calves. News back at our own homestead:  The chicks are coming along great have been moved to the coop, the turkeys are growing beautifully, and garden is finally starting to yield some wonderful bounties of tomatoes, peppers, beans, basil.. just so delicious. It’s so exciting to start seeing parts of the farm come together.

Grace on the Farm

My family recently moved from Dallas/Fort Worth, Texas to a rural town in Iowa.  I love it.  I'm just a city girl, who has fallen in love with life in the country, being surrounded by natures beauty. For a long time now my husband and I have dreaming of living "off the grid" and having a farm house, where we could homestead and raise our four beautiful little girls differently. So now that we have jumped both feet into rural life.. I am writing about my families daily new adventures and the things that bring beauty and joy to our lives:  farming, cooking, gardening, homeschool, family and friends.
